Whether you are new at ceramics, an experienced potter, looking for a new hobby, or have a free afternoon, Redbrick Pottery Studios has space for you to get your hands in some clay. Redbrick Pottery is a creative environment where you can feel comfortable getting involved.

All courses at Redbrick Pottery Studios are hands-on, studio classes that introduce and refine one’s understanding of ceramics. Courses have been designed to provide well rounded instruction in ceramic techniques combined with pushing one's creative limits. One on one attention is provided between teacher and student which helps students develop at their own pace on individually determined projects. An environment of sharing ideas among peers is encouraged. End of the semester critques will occur.

PAINTING & MIXED MEDIA

Painting: Developing your skills & finding your vision 6 week
This painting class is designed for both beginner and intermediate painters. Students will gain new skills in their chosen medium as well as explore and focus on their personal vision. The class will begin with two assignments after which students will be encouraged to work on their own ideas for paintings. All painting mediums are permitted. If you are an absolute beginner, you are encouraged to begin in oils and call Redbrick for the recommended supplies for this class.

Painting with Oil Bars 6 week
Learn to how to use this exciting and versatile medium from an artist who uses this medium regularly in her own work. In this class you will learn various methods of applying oil bar to prepared surfaces as well as exploring the use of oil painting mediums and glazing with oil bars. Come experience the joy of the directness of oil bars and their luscious colors. Class is open to older teens (16+) and adults. Students will need to bring a beginner's set of oil bars, brushes, and palette knife (plastic palette knives are fine). Mediums will be provided by the instructor for general class use. Call Redbrick if you are unsure where local art supplies are located.
