REDBRICK ARTS OUTREACH

Involvement in the arts engages kids in their community, improves self-esteem, reclaims at-risk youth, and builds the creative skills that are required of a 21st century workforce.
– Gavin Newsom

Many children and parents rely on their school to provide an arts education that will help them grow to be successful young adults. With the decrease of arts programming at our public schools and the limited dollars directed towards the arts, our children's exposure to creativity is decreasing dramatically. Children with disabilities are at even greater risk. Many children do not have the ability to experience the arts on their own.
As a community, we must look for new ways to bring the arts into every child’s life experience and to supplement their education.

The Art Outreach Program brings school children and teens into our gallery to view and talk about the exhibits with a professional artist and teacher. This program enriches the educational experience of children in our communities by bringing school and community groups into our gallery for a special look at contemporary art from regional and national artists. This exposure to modern art, a professional gallery space, a working artist, and art in a context outside of the limitations of school makes a tremendous impact. Students are excited and energized when they walk through our doors and are thrilled to see their completed projects in display.
